Wedding invitations can be made in a wide variety of styles and decorated in countless ways, this morning I thought that I would put together a short article about the different types of invitation you might be looking for. They can all incorporate your theme, colours ribbon and most other ideas that you may be looking for. Most designs can be adapted to fit any of the basic styles and adapted for the flat invitation.
Flat or Postcard Invitation
These are possibly the simplest of invitations just a simple flat or postcard (that you might send from your holiday) like card, these are often used as evening invitations but can be made just as beautiful as any of the other styles.
Classic Fold
These are similar to the style of greeting card that you might send for a birthday or other event, with a side or bottom opening. These are often used to replicate your invitation and create Thank You cards.
A great type of invitation for including lots of information, we do these in 2 different ways a square pocket with a top opening and a long slim style with a side opening. The square pockets come in a couple of different sizes. With these pocket invitations along with the invitation we include an RSVP with an envelope) and a guest information (often used for gift wishes). Occasionally we even make some changes to the original base cards, which can create some amazing, I have just sourced the square pockets in glitter but more about this next time!
Book-fold
Another great type of invitation for including lots of information, we can do these in several different ways and a few different sizes. Inside they have a smack pocket to include the RSVP and any other information needed to help your guests. They can have flaps or not depending on your preference. With these book-fold invitations along with the invitation we include an RSVP (with an envelope) and a guest information (often used for gift wishes).
Gate Fold
This type is where the front of the invitation is cut in two and they open to reveal your invitation, many of the laser cut invitations come in this style but they don’t have to be laser cut to be gate fold.
Laser cut
Laser cut invitations come in a variety of styles, currently we have a gatefold inter-twining tree, along with several other gatefold including a doily and some other beautiful lacey designs.
